In order to instill enthusiasm at the Federalist State Party Rally, a group of delegates enters the room dancing.



Much enthusiasm is seen as the Federalists gather at their State Rally to cheer their candidates to victory before the primary election.



Not to be out done, the Nationalists stand in support of their party chairman as she introduces their choices for Governor.



Ambitious Nationalist delegates take the stage to lead their party in a rally cheer.



First thing Wednesday morning the City Elections were held in each city. Here we see a citizen voting.



This Buckeye Girls State citizen drops her ballot into the ballot box at her city election.



Lt. Mark Groves and S/Lt. Charles Mathess of the Ohio State Highway Patrol speak to the BGS cadets on the uses of the helicopter.



A couple of the OSHP cadets hold a discussion inside the helicopter.



Here we see a citizen casting her ballot. The Ashland County Board of Elections brings in actual voting booths to lend reality to the delegates.



Once the voting is over, the citizens anxiously check the election results.



Delegates check to see if their candidate of choice was successful.



Sharon Gandee, county government advisor, prepares to post the primary results from her county.



After the primary election, the candidates seeking office participate in a debate to sway undecided voters to their party.



Each candidate seeking office takes their turn at the podium addressing questions to further their party’s ultimate election.



June Stas, Ohio Auxiliary Department President, and Marilyn Byers, Ashland County Commissioner, stopped by the PR office prior to the City Celebration for a photograph. Mrs. Byers, a former Girls Stater, was the guest speaker.



Gerald White, Director of Buckeye Boys State, brings greetings to the delegates.



Wednesday night is the City Celebration where all city elected officials are sworn into office. The BGS Band and Chorus performs before the festivities begin.



The BGS band played an assortment of songs prior to the opening. The Chorus responded to one song by singing and expressing themselves by gesturing O-H-I-O!



A city official is sworn in at the City Celebration.



These 25 City Mayors took the oath of office at the City Celebration.
